The Health Service System is in the month of October which is Open Enrollment month. Everyone should have received the packet of services followed up by email information. So, if you haven’t made your changes, now is the time to visit: sfhss.org/oe2023 Everybody’s situation is different, pick what is best for YOU!! If you’re not changing anything, do nothing. You will automatically be renewed in the plan that you have.
It has come to POB’s attention that some members are been billed individually by the doctors, clinics, and hospitals. This should not happen!! SAN FRANCISCO EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT BOARD SYSTEM (SFERS)
As of September 30, 2022, the SFERS total fund was valued at $32.5 Billion. Year to Date we are negative 11.41% and for the Fiscal Year to Date negative 2.34%. Putting the Year 2022 into context, losses are notable as one of the worst in 40 years!! August inflation data was higher than expected and geopolitical issues like the ongoing Russia situation have driven risk mode up.
Though SFERS’s strategic themes were challenged in FY 2022, SFERS has benefitted from them over the long haul and maintains a strong conviction these active risks will be successful going forward. On a positive note, during the Friday, October 20th earning session Wall Street’s earnings were stronger than expected, driving the Nasdaq up 2.31%, the DOW up 2.47%, and the S&P up 2.10%, all in one day! Remember, SFERS has outperformed the major indexes consistently.
