Having Problems With BSC Transition?
Fill out the Form Below.

HSS voted August 6 to switch your healthcare PPO coverage to Blue Shield CA starting in January 2025. BSC is working closely with us to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, and has agreed to negotiate the same payments, co-pays and deductibles with your doctors or hospitals around the country that were accepting your UHC Medicare Advantage PPO. If you’re having problems, call the BSC hotline they have set up for us at 800/370-8852. If you are still having any problems, fill out the form below to let us know. Resources to Make It Easy for You to Understand Process, Find Doctors

Your POB directors ran a hard-fought campaign this past summer to keep our United Healthcare benefits, but in the end, we were outvoted by the HSS board, who voted to move the retiree healthcare plan to the Blue Shield CA PPO, effective Jan. 1, 2025. However, we were able to extract some significant safeguards for you. You should have received an email from HSS alerting you to the change. In addition, HSS has set up a website with information about the new plan, including drug coverage formularies for 2025.

In addition, BSC has set up a hotline for retirees who run into any problems changing over to the new BSC Medicare Advantage PPO, particularly those whose doctors say they don’t accept BSC. Don’t wait until the plan changes over on January 1, to find out if your doctors, specific specialty needs, pharmacy or gym membership changes will be affected. Call them today.

POB remains committed to helping you if you don’t get satisfaction from BSC. If you are still having issues, fill out the form here:
