POB president Fred Sanchez had a chance to meet with the new mayor and congratulate him on his win. POB looks forward to working with the new mayor and his administration to fix the many problems we are experiencing with the transition to BSC.
Lurie ran on an accountable leadership platform in City Hall, he was elected with 55% of the vote in the final round of rank choice voting. Citizens were hungry for change. Lurie has championed the following issues:
- Clean and safe streets for all.
- Tackling our drug and behavioral health crisis.
- Shaking up the corrupt and ineffective bureaucracy.
- Building enough housing to turn around our affordability crisis.
- Breathing life back into our downtown, and ensuring our small businesses are thriving.
