The SF Health Service System (SFHSS) is still transitioning to Blue Shield of California. POB and other senior advocacy groups continue to meet monthly with SFHSS and BSC to resolve issues.
As a result of these meetings the $100 facility fees for UCSF will be absorbed by BSC. Acupuncture and Chiropractor appointments ware now authorized for 24 visits per year without providers having to request additional authorization after five visits as was the previous practice. SFHSS and BSC have agreed to send out more information on how prescription drugs are handled.
POB, Veteran Police Officers Association, and Retired Employees of the City and County San Francisco (RECCSF) are forwarding members’ individual complaints that have been occurring during the transition to both BSC and SFHSS staff for resolution. We are encouraged that they are working hard to resolve these difficult issues.
