Earlier this year the SFERS Board moved and approved to reduce its meetings to seven times per year. SFERS board meetings will be May 14, July 9, Sept. 10 and Nov 12 this year. Subcommittees may meet in the meantime, as issues come up that need to be resolved. We will keep you informed.

Investment update: The fund had grown for fiscal year as Feb. 28 2025 to 4.6%. Total value of plan $36.5 billion, but most of the gains for fiscal year were lost as the stock market tumbled in March. The Retirement System did better than the stock markets because they invest knowing they must be stable for actives and retirees who paid into the SFERS for their entire careers. SFERS continues to be one of the top public pensions of its size nationally.
