SAN FRANCISCO HEALTH SERVICE SYSTEM
Open enrollment is over and it looks like it went with no real problems. With everything being addressed by computer and telephone the enrollment seemed to pass the test. HSS has started to bring staff back in the offices: still no public visitation. The SFHSS have restarted their monthly meetings; you can catch them on ZOOM. Hopefully, this is a sign of getting to normal, whatever normal is! If you feel you should get the COVID Booster by all means get it! SAN FRANCISCO EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT SYSTEM (SFERS)
SFERS voted to lower the discount rate from 7.4% to 7.2%. The discount rate is the target rate used to calculate if a supplemental cost of living is payable. SFERS assets were up an estimated 1.67% in October. Returns were led by Public Equity, which was up an estimated 4.12% for the month. SFERS has generated an estimated return of 5.02% over the first four months of the fiscal year. SFERS has generated an estimated return of 20.40% for the calendar year through October 31st. SFERS total estimated assets at the end of October are $36.6 Billion. These figures are truly tremendous for a pension system of our size.

Reporting that “RESTORE RETIREES CITY WORKERS EARNED BENEFITS 2021” is still on track. As we get the WORD out, more and more people are responding to the message. The Ballot Measure Committee will be in full campaign mode, and that’s when we will be calling for help from everyone. Thank you for your continuing support and campaign contributions.
