Abby Yant the Executive Director of the San Francisco Health Service System (SFHSS) has given notice that she is retiring this year. However, she has agreed to stay on until mid-March 2025 after a replacement has been found and approved.
SFHSS began the process of recruiting her successor last month. It was during a special October HSS meeting, that POB learned that the Department of Human Resources (DHR) had already recommended and approved Berkeley Search Consultants to conduct the recruitment process and interviews. BSC reported that the process should take 9 to 12 weeks to complete.
As a point of procedure, when Trustee Cremen asked how many companies responded to the Request for Proposal, DHR told him 5 companies had responded. Trustee Cremen then request their names. The trustees had previously closed the application period, and had approved Berkeley Search Consultants. The SFHSS board voted to empower its President to work with Berkeley Research Consultants on the Executive Director Job Description. We will keep you posted on the process.
