YOUR CALLS & EMAILS TO SUPERVISORS ARE NEEDED TODAY!
SAY ‘NO!’ TO AGEISM, BROKEN PROMISES
Once again, SF Supervisors and Mayor Breed are trying to throw at least 17,500 of our fellow city retirees under the bus! We can’t let them get away with it! They are trying to balance the city’s budget on our backs by downgrading our healthcare plans and we won’t stand for it.
Starting today, volunteer city retirees will begin walking the halls of City Hall to talk to our elected supervisors about the hardships seniors will encounter if they replace the better and more flexible United Healthcare with the inferior Blue Shield of CA.
We’ve testified at all the recent budget and healthcare hearings, we’ve written Mayor Breed and the Supervisors, but we are getting no traction. In fact, they reversed their first vote to keep United Healthcare because of our testimony. But then, in dead of night, they switched out one of the key board members and changed the vote.
Hundreds and hundreds of our members are emailing and calling us, terrified, and sharing their hard-luck stories:
