San Francisco City and County retirees and friends, we need your help starting today! Please take 20 minutes to call and email the Mayor’s office, the Supervisors, Blue Shield of California and UCSF Medical Group to protest the elimination of healthcare services at UCSF as of June 30, 2025.
We’ve heard that many of you are receiving letters that you will no longer be able to access your UCSF doctors effective at the end of the month. In addition, payments for services already rendered are threatened. This is NOT acceptable! We must push back and voice our strenuous objections.
Why is this happening? A contract fight between Blue Shield of California and UCSF Medical Group doctors is brewing, threatening our long-cherished healthcare at that facility. The contract expires at the end of the month.
Many of you use UCSF’s healthcare system, so this is an intolerable situation. We were promised a “seamless transition” from United Healthcare to Blue Shield of California. That has NOT been the case, and this contract fight is just the latest in a series of rollbacks on our promised benefits.
We urge UCSF doctors and Blue Shield of California to resolve the current impasse and settle their contract. The excellent healthcare of thousands of our retired civil servants is at stake.
POB is joining together with C.A.R.A, RECCSF, Retired Teachers and all other Senior action groups to fight back until this contract dispute is settled.
